About Us

Today’s Afghanistan Conciliation Trust (TACT) is an impartial not for profit Afghan national NGO/CSO which is free from linguistic, ethnic, tribal, religious and political affiliations and prejudices. TACT was founded in 2010 by a group of professional and intellectual Afghans who devoted most of their time in serving the Afghan people in the contexts of education, healthcare, peacebuilding, child protection and youth empowerment and humanitarian assistances in the country

Mission & Purpose

Mission statement:

TACT especially works to uphold and advocates for the rights of the Afghan women and children and actively develop initiatives that incorporates gender perspectives and aim at developing in areas focused on violence against women and children, human rights and sustainable community development projects.

    TACT is registered with the Ministry of Economy of the government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in May 2012 as a national NGO with the registration number (2614). TACT is also registered with the Ministry of Education (Reg. # 221), Ministry of Public Health (Reg. # 617), Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation – MoRR (Reg. # 184), Ministry of Information & Culture, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), along with several national, international organizations and UN agencies.     TACT has accreditation from the Islamic government of Afghanistan and the Afghan NGOs Coordination body (ACBAR) to undertakes community and institutional development, civic education and is actively participating in the process of peacebuilding of the country with a sole objective to serving the Afghan society.
    Based in Kabul, TACT has liaison offices in Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan, Khost, Ghazni, Takhar, Badakhshan, Daykundi, Mazar-e-Sharif and Hirat provinces.

TACT EVENTS

TACT Primary Goals

  • To participate in the process of peacebuilding, reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of the Afghan nation; advocating particularly for the rights of women and children .
  • To promote sustainable community development by providing local capacitybuilding support; technical, vocational and financial support to local organizations and civil society actors - building conflict resolution.
  • To establish and provide advanced business training for Afghan women entrepreneurs and to support emerging business opportunities and associations in order to reduce poverty levels.

TACT is an impartial, national Afghan nonprofit CSO/NGO which is free from linguistic, ethnic, tribal, religious and political affiliations and prejudices.Its sole objective is to provide assistance and to serve the people of the Afghan society.

TACT’s MRASTA FM radio station and the MRASTA monthly magazine “Help” are dedicated for the purpose of using media as a development tool.
